How To Want More

Because it is the deepest instinct of their nature. All men and women are attracted to him, who can give them more of the means of life.

Hello, entrepreneurs, join me on this episode of The Virtual Entrepreneur.

If you're new to this episode. You are very welcome and thank you for tuning in and joining us today on this episode. In the last few episodes of this podcast, we had been reading the book, The Science of Getting Rich by W. D. Wattles written in 1910, the book offers the secret formula to getting rich.

And what that means to us as intrapreneur is, It is an opportunity to grasp that knowledge to grab it and to use it in our businesses and society today, so that we can advance because it is only by creating success in our businesses in our lives.

We can make our communities and our countries better.


And our last episode, we talked about the sense of renewal, on your purpose, right, the chapter was chapter, 13, and it focused a lot more on a sense of renewal of your purpose and what this means, essentially, is to remind ourselves, as entrepreneurs as business owners, to remind ourselves, in our daily lives, our goals, our values, our mission, and our vision.

It is not important to only remind ourselves about our goals, our values, our missions, and our vision, but it is also very important to acknowledge the little wins that we get, the impact we have made on the people that we've interacted with along the way, because it is by acknowledging the small successes that we're realizing, we're on the path to success.

And so the last episode deals a lot more with getting into the right business, and what that means, essentially, is, whatever it is that you truly desire, getting into that because it is by getting into what you really want to do.

You can really excel at doing it, right?

When we do what we want to do, we do it harder, we do it faster, we do it better, we try to improve. We try to master it.

And those were the key takeaways from the chapter yesterday. And if you want to listen to that you can go to a previous episode. Today we are reading Chapter 14

Chapter 14 The impression of increase.

Whether your change of vocation or not, your action for the present, must be those pertaining to the business in which you are now engaged.

You can get into the business you want by making constructive use of the business you already established by doing your daily work in a certain way.

And insofar as your business consists of dealing with other men, whether personally or by letter. The key thought of all your effort must be to convey to their minds, the impression of increase is what all men and women are seeking. It is the urge of the Formless Intelligence within them, seeking fuller expression.

The desire for increase is inherent in all nature. It is the fundamental impulse of the universe. All human activities are based on the desire for increase, people are seeking more food, more clothes. Better Shelter more luxury better beauty, more knowledge, more pleasure, increase in something more life.

Every living thing is under then this necessity for continued advancement. When the increase of life seizes dissolution and death, set in at once.

Man, instinctively knows this. And hence, he is forever seeking more. The law of perpetual increase is set forth by Jesus in the parable of his tablet talent. Only those who gain more retain any from, who has not shall be taken away, even that which he had nature, the normal desire to preserve wealth is not an evil or reprehensible theme.

It is simply the desire for a more abundant life. It is an aspiration.

And because it is the deepest instinct of their nature, all men and women are attracted to him, who can give them more of the means of life.

In following the Certain Way, as described in the foregoing pages, you are getting continuous increase for yourself, and you're giving it all, with whom you do, you are the creative center from which increase is given, for all, be sure of this.

The convey and convey assurance of the fact to every man, woman, and child, with whom you come into contact, no matter how small the transaction, even if it is only the son of a stick of candy to a child, put in it.

The thought of increase and make sure that the customer is impressed with the thought, convey the impression of advancement, with everything you do, so that all people shall receive the impression that you are an advancing man, and that you advanced all who you deal with you, even to the people whom you meet in a social way without any thought of business, and whom you will not try to sell anything. Give the thought of increase.

You can convey this impression by holding to the unshakable faith that you yourself are in the way of increase and by letting this faith, inspire fear, and permeate every action, do everything that you do in firm conviction that you are an advancing, personality, and that you are giving advancement to everybody.

Feel that you are getting rich and that in doing, you are making others rich and conferring benefits to all.

Do not boast or brag of your, of your success or talk about it unnecessarily true faith is never boastful.

Wherever you find a boastful person, you find one who is secretly doubtful and afraid, simply feel the faith and let it work out in every transaction with every act and tone. And look, expression expressed the quiet assurance that you are getting rich, that you are already rich words will not be necessary to communicate these feelings to others.

They will feel the sense of increase when you, when in your presence, and will be attracted to you. Again, you must so impress others that they will feel that in association with you, they will get increased for themself. See that you are giving them a use value greater than the cash value, you are taking from them.

Take an honest pride in doing this, and let everybody know.

And you will have no lack of customers, people will go where they are given the increase and the Supreme, which desires increase you know, and with which knows all. will move towards you, men and women who have never heard of you.

Your business will increase rapidly, and you will be surprised at the expected benefit, which will come to you, you will be able to form, you will be able from day to day to make large combinations, secure great advantages, and to go into a more congenial vocation if you desire to do so.

But in doing all this, You must never lose sight of your vision of what you want, or your FAITH and PURPOSE to get what you want.

Let me give you here, another word of caution in regards to motives.

Be aware of the insidious temptation to seek power over other men.

Nothing is so pleasant to the unformed, or, partially developed mind as exercise of power or dominion of others. The desire to rule for selfish gratification has been the curse of the world for countless ages kings and lords have drenched the earth with blood in their battles to extend the Dominion.

This not to seek more life for all. But to get more power for themselves.

Today, the main motive in the business and industry world is the same man marshals, their armies of dollars and lay waste the lives and hearts of millions in the same mad scramble for Power of Others commercial kings like political kings, inspired by the lust for power. Jesus saw this in the desire for mastery.

The moving impulse of the evil world is sought overthrow read the 23rd chapter of Matthew. See how he pictures last of the parentheses to be called Master to sit in the high places to dominium of others, and to lay burden on the back of the rest fortune, not how he compares this laughed for Domini. With the brotherly seeking for the common good, to which he called his disciple.

Look out for the temptation to seek authority to be a master to be considered as one who is above the common herd to impress others by love, lavishly display, and so on.

The mind that seeks mastery of others is the competitive mind, and the competitive mind is not the creative one.

In order to master your environment and your destiny. It is not all necessary that you should rule over your fellow men. And indeed, when you fall into the world struggles for high places, you begin to conquer. To be conquered by faith and environment, and your getting rich becomes a matter of chance and speculation.

Be aware of the competitive mind.

Not a better statement of the principle of the creative action can be formulated than the favorite declaration of the late golden rule. John, of Teredo.

What I want for myself. I want for everybody.

The End of Chapter 14 of the science of getting rich.

This chapter seemed to bring back a lot of some of the past points that we've discussed, but I think the one big thing here. That is really heavily focused on is the idea that you must convey the thought of increase and it will be a lie to say that this doesn't apply today.

Because one of the biggest thing that I've learned in the world of business. Ever since I have started in business, is that

as businesses as entrepreneurs, we are called upon to create solutions to problems.

Notice that that statement doesn't say we are called to compete for solutions to problems.

It doesn't make any sense to compete for solutions to problems. We are called, and we are paid to create solutions and solutions can be created in so many ways, in our own struggles.

By overcoming our struggles, we've come up with better solutions. And some of the most inspiring entrepreneurs are those who became a product of the problem that we're trying to solve their business is a product of a problem, as they tried to change themselves.

And what this means, essentially, is they became creators. And this is not just me saying it is what I've been learning from my mentors, a lot of them. They are companies that were built from them, learning to change, and taking those lessons from that change, becoming their product, becoming their companies.

And that was an original creation, no competition involved.

Right. And so the idea of, you must want to convey the thought of increase.

I think it also comes from you also wanting more.

One of the biggest things I learned yesterday, last night was, it's okay to want more.

You can want the things you already have, and you can want things that you want to have,

for example, if you're happy with your family, it's okay to want to always be happy with your family, it's okay to want that to desire that, it's alright, it's perfectly alright. And it is also okay to want more. Maybe it's big house by the beach that you want, it's okay to want that. A beautiful blue Mercedes it's okay to want that.


And the other thing is to inspire to aspire. Right. And today, one of the biggest thing I'm focused on is aspiring to be successful as an entrepreneur. I've seen a lot of entrepreneurs become. And I've seen a lot becoming, and I became a student so that I can inspire, anyone who dares to aspire to be more as a business owner or an entrepreneur.

And as you will see as we bring on more guests, you'll see it's not only that we set up, we don't set our goal. We never get to where we want without setting goals, but wanting more also means that acknowledging that our customers want more.


And when we give what they want. We need to give it to them in a way that astonishes them.

And I'm using this phrasing here because I learned it from Gary Halbert, who is known as the father of direct response marketing, and I was watching one of his old presentations. And one of the things that I learned from that was the idea of going beyond when you're giving your customer the solution they were looking for. And it doesn't have to be expensive.

It just has to be with the thought of more as the book says.

You just have to astonish them.

Right. It's called the red carpet treatment.

And the next key point that I got from this book is in the thought of increase. Right. When you asked to put the thought of increase, it can feel like it's a lot it's too much, right, it can feel like it's difficult, and at times it can feel like it's a dead end.

And I'm going to use an example here as one of the best ways to overcome this is. Some people say it's when people put the thought of increase, things become authentic, but it's hard to tell someone, be authentic, so if you're an entrepreneur and you have team members you can't tell them, be authentic.


And so a great book to help you put the thought of increase is the book Start With Why by Simon Sinek, right, and I'll try my best to put all the resources in one place.

I'm still trying.

But one of the things that I've learned in that is Simon Sinek says great leaders, start with Why. Right. And because when we talk by starting with why we talk from a place that is directly affecting our emotions, that affect our customer's emotions, our listener's emotions. Right. And this is important because we make decisions on emotions, and then we justify them by logic. So if you want to inspire customers to buy a product that will help them transform their lives, we have to start talking with why.

Right. And as an example, I tried to use him as an example, not the best one but, so I've got, I mean it's not all I've got, but it's what I could come up with a very quickly instrument is that if the phrase goes as if you win, I win. If you lose, I lose.

This is a quote from when I was graduating from high school, it's one of the teachers, standing and reading this, I don't remember any part of the speech but I remember this.

"If you win, I win. If you lose, I lose."

And I've come to believe this, it took me a while to understand it but I've come to believe it so much today. I believe that our communities are made off of houses. They're made of neighborhoods, they're made of people, and they're made of businesses, and they're made of nature parks, trees, and all these things that we see in our communities.

And I've come to believe that if you want to leave our communities a better place.

If you want to make them better, safer and healthier.

We must start by leaving each and every little thing, better.

And if each of us wants to leave each and every little thing better then we have to start with ourselves, because there are people in our community we have to start with us, with the biggest action takers. Right. And if each of us is cared for enough, then we would care enough to leave everything else better.

But it all starts with caring for ourselves.

Right, so you must want more So that you can know how to give more.

There's one of the greatest sushi restaurants in Japan. I think it's owned by Jiro. And I was watching his documentary, it was a great documentary, it's called the Jiro Dreams of Sushi.

And in his documentary. what he said was,

"you need to taste really good food, so you can make really good food."

Right, by the way, his sushi each plate wakes as expensive as between $200 and up that a plate of sushi. It was one of the most expensive people reported being intimidated eating there, but it is inspiring to watch from the entrepreneur's point of view because what he's bringing to the world is very unique.

So, that is us. In this episode, and the called action.

What I want you to do from this episode to take away and do is to start asking yourself, why we are doing what we are doing? what is our mission? what is our value? What is our purpose? what is our vision? and through the lens of those answers do whatever it is we're doing.

And the best way is to ask yourself why three or four times. Each time asking why to answer.
